A few months ago Eddie Elguera called us and asked us if we could send him some S-One Lifer Helmets. He said he heard good things about the Lifer helmet and wanted to check em out. So we sent him a few helmets. A few weeks after that I saw a photo of him doing a frontside invert at the Riverside Park bowl in NYC. I was soooo stoked! I was thinking, "Wow. He liked em. Eddie is wearing the Lifer Helmet!" A few days after that he called in and thanked us for sending him the helmets and he told me that he was amazed at how well the Lifer helmet fit him. He had never had a Certified helmet that fit his head as well. He was wondering if we could release a an "El Gato" Lifer Helmet someday. I said yes of course. So he came in for a meeting and we worked on designs and stuff. The Lifer El Gato Helmet will be out in Spring 2013.
So I knew how rad Eddie is just from skateboarding and knowing the history. El Gato was the man in the late 70's. He is a true innovator. He would do stuff that was never done before. El Gato is to the late 70's / early 80's to what Salman Agah or Guy Mariano was to the 90's. Basically, a skateboarding visionary - creating tricks and changing the way people skate. Eddie's 50th Birthday party was last weekend... and it was awesome. Hundreds of his friends from over the years showed up to celebrate and skate.
We are so proud and honored that Eddie wears the S-One Lifer Helmet.
Thanks Eddie!
