There is no question about it... the S1 Lifer Helmet is the way to go. If you are wearing a soft foam helmet and hit your head from more than 6.5 feet or 14 mph you will get a severe concussion and could possibly have a traumatic brain injury or die. Over the last few years some of the top Skate and BMX pros have suffered TBI's (Traumatic Brain Injury) while wearing soft foam helmets (not S1 helmets thankfully). And alot of the Roller Derby players have suffered severe concussions while wearing the non-certified soft foam helmets.
