S-One Helmet Co. / Concrete Wave Magazine

Over the last few issues Concrete Wave has become a Longboard Magazine. We like this. I wasn't a huge fan of the mag when it had a grab bag of street, vert, bowls and slalom. For whatever reason I felt like the mag was too diluted. Now that Concrete Wave has decided to focus on Longboarding we have decided to help support the mag. I think Concrete Wave is a great way for us to help spread the message about S-One Helmets to the Longboard Community.

For our first ad in Concrete Wave we are running a photo of Spanish skateboarder Aleix Gallimo (Loaded Skateboards) shot by the talented photographer, Adrian Garcia Rodriguez. The ad features a photo of Alex bombing a hill just outside Madrid, Spain and below the photo we have included photos and information about the fit and construction of the

Oh and keep an eye out for Adam Colton wearing the S-One Lifer Helmets also. The Lifer Helmet fits amazing AND it is CPSC Certified so it offers 5x more protection than the old school soft foam helmets.

1978 "Crashed Memories of an LA Punk Rocker: $20.00 + shipping

I first met Ger-I a few years ago because we make helmets and he needed helmets for the Venice Skateboard Association. He stopped by the warehouse to meet me and Dan (my partner). We hung out for a bit and realized we had a few things in common... a deep respect for skating, surfing, punk rock and venice.  So we hooked him up with helmets for the Venice Skatepark and we kept in touch.
A year later he stopped by and dropped of this book. No joke... once I started reading the first page... I was hooked... I couldn't put it down. I read it all in one night. It is one of those books that you stay up late to finish. Ger-I can write a real page turner! I won't say anymore though because I can't write all that well..

1978 "Crashed Memories of an LA Punk Rocker" $20.00 + shipping (worth every penny)

Ger-I Lewis' new book 1978 is really good.  If you ever wondered what the surfing, skating or punk rock scene was like in Venice and LA in the late 70's... I highly recommend this book. This is the real deal.

Adam Colton and Paris Truck Company...

Adam Colton is an interesting guy and an interesting skateboarder.
Learn more about him on the Paris Truck Co. Website. Adam has been
wearing S-One Helmets for the last year or so and we are proud to
be working with him.  Longboarding is going through
an interesting time. The companies and riders are
finding a nice groove and identity. It reminds me of when
street skating first started catching on in the mid 90's.
Kids all across America were watching videos like Eastern Exposure and were
like,"Holy Sh#t street skating looks fun." and they started
trying to grind a curb in front of their house for hours on end.
Fast forward 15 years to 2011 and kids are watching Loaded videos on youtube
and they are like, "Holy Sh#t that looks fun" and kids are trying to bomb
their local suburban hills and winding roads.
The companies and skaters are different but it is still skating.
And the kids are amped on it.
And Longboarding is still under the corporate radar.

Great Fit + Great Protection = S-One Lifer Helmet

Austin Poynter goes BIG and that is why he protects his
dome with the S-One Lifer Helmet.  The Lifer Helmet protects
your brains 5-10x more than a soft foam "non-cpsc" helmet.

Aleix Gallimo wearing the S-One Lifer Helmet

Fortrate is the official S-One Helmet distributor in Spain and they sent this photo of Aleix having some serious fun on his skateboard. Check out the smile!
Aleix Gallimo wearing the S-One Lifer Helmet. The S-One Lifer Helmet
has a hard eps foam liner and is 8x safer than a soft foam helmet.
This helmet is CPSC Certified for skating and biking.
The S-One Lifer Helmet is one our best sellers because it has the look
and fit of a soft foam helmet but it has the safety
and protection of a hard foam helmet. Some say it is the BEST FITTING
Cpsc Certified Helmet on the market. If you are skating Downhill alot
you def want to get a helmet that has the hard eps liner.
